Microsoft Releases Office 2013 And 365 Beta

Days ago, the technology world has been abuzz on an upcoming event where Microsoft Corporation SEO Steve Ballmer is expected to launch a new product. This was after the company giant invited a few select media personnel. The details of the event were a hush-hush that even those who were invited had no
idea what they are supposed to be launching.

Come the awaited event, Ballmer unveiled a preview of the next generation of their world-renowned Office suite: the Microsoft Office 2013. This is a subscription-based desktop version of Office 365 that features updates and integration with the company’s cloud service SkyDrive. Ballmer has said that this is the most ambitious release that they have ever done. With their costs yet to be announced, he discussed the three subscription packages of Office 365:

  • Home Premium
  • Small Business Premium
  • ProPlus

The Microsoft Office 2013 will include the new versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, and many other applications included in other office packs. They all come with a new and smarter design than all the Office suites that have come before it. This will work with PCs and tablets that run on Windows 7 or 8 as well as on Windows Phones.

Tight Integration with SkyDrive

With the Office 2013, all your saved files will now be saved on SkyDrive, although you have an option to change the save location. SkyDrive is the cloud storage solution of Microsoft, containing web versions of apps such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Because of this viewing, editing, and even creating Word
documents on a computer that do not have Microsoft installed is still possible.

Because of this integration, you will not have to use up space on your local storage. Plus, SkyDrive offers storage for free. Once you have downloaded and installed the new Office suite, it will immediately connect to your SkyDrive account.

An Impressive and Advanced Metro Style

All the Windows 8 users are familiar with the metro style, although it has bits of it with the Office 2007. But with their 2013 suite, users are now offered with the smarter Metro style OS. It even has the support of Skype for video chat in Microsoft Lync.

The Microsoft Word 2013 has definitely cleaned up really well. Its improvements include an environment that is free from the distractions of the macros, menu bars, and all the other on-screen accessories. Users are able to customize the look of the Word with their collapsible menu bars and subtle graphic designs. They come with a “Read Mode” button that will free your document from all menus and buttons for a free reading screen. PowerPoint is now been enabled for collaborative saving and editing with SkyDrive.

With an impressive streamlined appearance, the Microsoft Office 2013 offers a fluid and fast interface that will make the creation and access of your important applications and documents easy and upfront. Now, you can just send a link of a file to others and get them to edit it. This is a totally different but useful change.
