Power supply cycles on and off continueously

When system is powered-on system, p/s now cycles up and down continuously. By eliminating all connections to mb, (except ATX 24 pin) have found that when 12v 4/8pin connecter is disconnectged, p/s no lonbger cycles on and off. Something on mb is crowbaring and releasing 12v. Maybe mb has died. Samething happens with other p/s eliminating p/s. Comments?

Yea sounds like the an issue with the motherboard. I'll have a hardware technician look at your post. There is an excellent hardware chat you can access from the Chat page. http://www.eugenecomputergeeks.com/chat/ . Once in the chat you can change your name with /nick YOUR_NAME and then join the ##hardware chat by typing the command /join ##hardware

I probably wont be able to have a hardware technician look at your post till tomorrow, but please check back as I will have an answer an opinion for you.

Did you ever figure out how to get to the hardware chat? I saw you were in the chat earlier. There is a volunteer in the room around 18 hours a day, you just came too early in the morning. I noticed in the chat that you typed "join/ ##hardware" instead of "/join ##hardware" . You ever get it figured out?

I meet with a hardware tech this afternoon, and will try and get you some input. In the hardware room, you have to be patient sometimes and ask your question with a lot of detail. If nobody answers, I highly recommend trying again in a couple hours.

Sorry for taking so long to respond. When it comes to the more advanced hardware questions, I'm not the one to ask. There are other volunteers and admins of the chat and site that I'll b able to ask today too.

Jeez, I've asked quiet a few people and nobody seems to have a straight answer. Hopefully my hardware tech I'm meeting with at 3Pm (pacific USA time), will know more. I've asked in the #hhardware chat twice for you and didn't get a response. Also asked four other volunteers, and they said your problem was beyond them.

One person said, "The only thing i know about such thigs is, that you can turn on a power supply without a mb by connecting green to black."

Thanks for your efforts. After thinking about all the possibilities with this mb, I've decided that the only way I can confirm that the cpu hasn't died too is to get another mb --it's a ASUS P5B Delux-- just like this one, or a simular but more advanced one, to test all the other stuff plugged into the mb. I could have multiple issues. The only thing that I have eliminated so far is the p/s. I will post here to keep the forum up to date on my progress. I guess the chat line too.
